Cool ladies night

February 10, 2006

ohhh…i need to write and i want to write. What’s wrong with me??? I guess I had been busy lately and a little bit under the weather as far as my health goes. Pms and such… Anyhow, today was good. My parents came to visit me. Lately, we have been getting along, which is super nice because I stuggled with the conflict between us (they too??) for a while before. I went to my friend’s work tonight. She is a writer/ editor at a super maniac?? music magazine and knows many cool people here in tokyo. We went to high school together, so we have known each other for a long time. she is very cool and doing well.

She introduced me to many people at her work and tonight I hang out with her and her friends. One of them is an interpreter and very energetic and cool. The other one is an editor and also cool and has herself (I love those ladies who have themselves, you know what I mean?) and sweet. We had healthy dinner with some wine, haha, It was an organic and chile red… and had another drink at a different place and chitchat, talk, or what not. I felt good because I love people like them: smart, sweet, and independent and professional. ahhhh…that is what I need.. they are in a music realm in tokyo too. That is super cool. It was sooooo funny that Kumi, my friend from high school and I wore very similar outfit…

I had a couple glasses of wine and a glass of whisky (Valantine…yumm) and now feel like I am connected to the world in Tokyo. haha..I exaggerated it..I know. Anyhow it was a fun night. I told them Harper is coming and they want to hang out with him. they suggested where I should take him and who he should meet and such. I love those cool ladies..

We talked about many things, many things. Japanese mindset, Westerners’ mindset, Europe, the U.S., raw food, Macrobiotic, hay fever, beets, Russian language, 80′s music, and so on…

Next exploration, I want to go to Kagurazaka, I heard that it is a cool place and there are many hideouts. I can’t wait…

ok..good night everyone.

    Hi Hiromi,

Wow! It sounds like you’re really enjoying your life in Tokyo. I’m so jealous. I don’t think there is a day that goes by where I don’t think about my previous life in Japan. Well, I love living in New York too.

BTW, I used to work right next to Kagurazaka. It’s a really cool place! There’s a great restaurant/bar called Canal Cafe along the river right in front of Suidobashi Station. I can’t wait to read in your blog about where you went in Kagurazaka.

    Take care,

    John
